Tammy S. Rhea, DDS
Dr. Tammy Rhea earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1988. She remained at the UMKC School of Dentistry for two years as an assistant clinical instructor in the Department of Periodontology. In 1990, she accepted an associateship in Sioux City and has been practicing in Northwest Iowa since.
Dr. Rhea practices all aspects of general dentistry but has had in-depth training in occlusions from the Dawson Center for Advanced Dentistry in St. Petersburg, Florida.
In 2015, Dr. Rhea completed a mini residency for adult sleep apnea and craniofacial pain to offer noninvasive, painless oral appliance therapy for the treatment of sleep apnea. She has also completed training in myofunctional appliance therapy for child sleep apnea and palatal expansion to aide in breathing, proper tongue posture, speech and overall development.
Dr. Rhea is a member of the American Dental Academy, Iowa Dental Academy, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Airway Health Solutions, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and the 3M Council for Innovative Dentistry.
Tammy and her husband, John, have two adult children, Ken and Sophia. The family enjoys traveling together and, during football season, can be found cheering on their favorite team, the Green Bay Packers. She’s committed to a healthy lifestyle and finds time to bike, run and lift weights every day. Dr. Rhea is committed to her community, donating her time, creativity and endless energy to many local causes and organizations.
Travis Van Roekel, DDS
Dr. Travis Van Roekel earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics after completing his bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Dordt University.
Dr. Van Roekel offers comprehensive dental care. Taking a foundational approach to dental care, he believes good dental health begins with preventative, routine care. He encourages his patients to maintain good oral health, as this can positively affect a patient’s overall health and well-being.
Dr. Van Roekel has a special interest in orthodontics and is Invisalign® certified. He also specializes in the placement of dental implants. He completed extensive training in dental implants through the Restorative Driven Implants program.
When he’s not seeing patients, Travis spends time outdoors hunting, fishing, golfing, biking and running. During football season, he enjoys cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers. While at Iowa, he volunteered at Iowa Mission of Mercy. During this time, he provided free care to patients who may not have been able to afford dental care. He looks forward to continuing to volunteer within the community.
